dfacto grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use Video Wallpaper on the number of devices carried in your licence key — 3 for Pro, 10 per Studio seat, and one on the free tier.

The licence is personal to you or, for seat-based tiers, to the named seat. A seat may be reassigned to a different person when someone leaves; it may not be shared concurrently.

Your key is a cryptographically signed token verified on your own Mac. The app does not contact a licence server, so verification works offline and cannot be broken by our payment provider having a bad day.

We are honest about the consequence: a token can be copied. Device limits are stated in the key and enforced by that statement rather than by surveillance. Exceeding them breaches this agreement even though the software will not stop you.

A subscription licence lasts for the period you paid for and is re-issued on each renewal. A perpetual licence does not expire and covers every 1.x release.

If a licence lapses, the software continues to run at the free tier. It does not disable itself, delete anything or hold your settings hostage.

The application source is published, and the CLI is MIT licensed. Reading, building and modifying it for your own use is expressly permitted and always will be.

This agreement governs the licence keys and the tiers they unlock, not your right to read the code.
